Sarah Norman, Head Chef at Milsoms, is very fond of the College, having studied for her own qualifications there. She told us that she knows first hand how her apprentices will be treated, the knowledge they will gain and the excellent facilities they will have available. She said: “All of our employees need a formal qualification so we are happy to put them through the apprenticeship programmes and invest in their skills.”
“The benefit of the apprenticeship course is that the young chefs get taught skills they might not necessarily learn at work, and also learn about different styles of cuisine and classic techniques. We have good contact with the apprentice’s College tutors and can see from their workbooks which aspects they have covered and follow their progress.” Sarah continued.
