Course Description:
This course is aimed at those with little or no experience of textiles. It provides an introduction to an assortment of yarns and materials which are used to create a range of samples through the application of various techniques. With an emphasis on surface pattern and texture, techniques will include: printing, dyeing and felting. There will also be the opportunity to embellish samples using other processes such as: stitch, batique, embroidery and various surface manipulation techniques. The techniques gained will be applied to a final product negotiated with the tutor such as a scarf, knitted brooches, belts, cushion covers, etc.
