Course Description:

Aimed at students intending to apply for the Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design or the BA (Hons) Art and Design with Foundation Year. The course will focus on the major areas that should be represented in an applicant’s portfolio and will provide advice on what constitutes a good portfolio, such as the range of drawing skills required or which craft skills are desirable. Sessions will include different approaches to recording and drawing, along with the expression of ideas or concepts through working with different media. This course involves a combination of set projects, demonstrations, practical and theoretical investigation, tutorials and studio practice.

Entry Requirements:

An interest in progressing to a diploma or Honours degree programme.
