Course Description:

This programme provides access to further education in practical-based photography and media programmes. The course work includes the theory and practice of a wide range of photography and media techniques. Students will explore the use of a variety of materials and processes.

This course is taught using a mixture of practical studio activites, seminars, tutorials, lectures and personal study.

In addition students will study at least one Functional Skill in English, mathematics or ICT as part of their main programme.

This course is a foundation learning programme and so in addition to the vocational qualification and Functional Skills, a work skills qualification will be undertaken too.

Course Content:

You will learn how to use both photography and media techniques and how to develop and communicate your ideas.

Entry Requirements:

Normally a minimum of 2 GCSEs (grades D-G) and examples of photographs or media work completed.

Career Opportunities:

Further study at higher level would open up employment opportunities in photography and media industries.

Course Progression:

Successful students are eligible to apply and progress to Level 2 Diploma in Photography or BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media.
