Course Description:

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply to all work at height where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause injury.  The Regulations place duties on employers, the self-employed and any person who may contract others to work at height.

Course Objectives/Key Benefits:

The aim of this course is to make delegates aware of the need to:

  • Properly plan and organise work at height
  • Ensure those working at height are competent
  • Understand the need to carry out risk assessments and select the appropriate work equipment
  • Control the risks from fragile surfaces
  • Properly inspect and maintain equipment for working at height
  • On completion of this course, delegates will be able to follow the hierarchy for managing risks from working at height, taking steps to avoid, prevent or reduce risks and have an understanding of the correct equipment for working at height.

    Any specific operator training which is required (e.g. tree surgeons, mobile elevating work platform operators, mobile access tower users etc.), will need to be arranged by the operative’s employer before the work can be undertaken.

The training will benefit managers, supervisors, foremen and operatives who organise, plan supervise and carry out work at height.
