Course Description:

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 requires that users of work equipment receive adequate training for purposes of health and safety.  This includes training in the methods which may be adopted when using work equipment, associated risks and precautions to be taken.  This duty extends to any employee who supervises or manages the use of work equipment.  The aim of this course is to train people in the skills and knowledge needed to achieve the standards of competency to use portable power tools safely and correctly.

Course Objectives/Key Benefits:

On completion of this course, delegates will be able to state the regulations covering the use of work equipment, have a good understanding of the hazards arising from the use of the work equipment, precautions to be taken, workplace checks, end-user safety checks, personal checks, machine checks and how machines are guarded.

The training will benefit individuals involved with using portable power tools.  The course is industry specific (construction, engineering, carpentry).
