Course Description:

This course is for those who wish to install, commission and service oil fired appliances in the domestic arena.  Course completion will enable compliance with building regulations.

Course Objectives/Key Benefits:

Success on this programme will allow the candidate to register with OFTEC and then self-certify their work.  Self certification of installation work will result in a significant cost saving to businesses.

Who the Course is Aimed at:

This course is intended for engineers with experience in heating installation and maintenance, who wish to be able to satisfy building control in relation to oil-fired appliance installations.

Course Content:

OFT 10-101         Servicing and commissioning pressure jet appliances ≤ 70KW

OFT10-105E        Appliance installation

OFT10-600A        Oil storage and supply

Two days of both theory and practical training with time for some hands on practice, followed by one and a half days assessment.

Entry Requirements:

Candidates must have either previously held the qualifications, or must be able to demonstrate and provide evidence supporting a good level of experience within the heating industry.

Course Progression:

Courses of study, leading to a qualification in: Water Regulations, Vented and Unvented Hot Water, Solar Thermal Hot Water.
