Abuse is a violation of an individual’s human and civil rights by another person. Vulnerable adults, including the elderly and those with a mental or physical disability, are at a greater risk than others for all types of abuse, including financial exploitation and physical abuse. Early identification and intervention are crucial to ensure the health and safety and well-being of vulnerable adults. This course uncovers and provides a way forward for the problem of abuse in vulnerable adults.

By the end of the course delegates will understand the scope of the problem of abuse in vulnerable adults, as well as developing skills to recognise and deal with abuse within their workplace.
