Course Description:
This course is designed to equip students with the practical, organisational and analytical skills to make professional standard films and television programmes.
Students learn to make films by making films. Over the course of two years they will make ten films in a diverse range of genres including:
- Location Drama
- Studio Production
- Documentary
- Stop Motion Animation
- Music Video
- Television Advertising
- Personal Show Reel
Students will have the benefit of a specialised multi-camera studio with green-screen and a lighting school which is unique in the country. As they make films, students will also develop the underpinning skills in effective communication, research, analysis and organisation through seminar sessions linked to the practical projects.
In addition, students will study at least one Functional Skills In English, maths or ICT as part of their main programme.

Entry Requirements:
Normally 5 GCSEs (grades A* - C) including English or Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media (merit). Interview with a portfolio of art/design work.
Career Opportunities:
Employment in TV film production in a range of production roles which may include camera work, sound recording for TV, lighting, editing, production management, writing for film and TV, producing, directing, casting and researching.
Course Progression:
Degree or HND in Film and TV Production, Creative Writing, Communications, Digital Media, or short Industry courses in particular role-specific techniques.
