Who is this course for?

The course is designed for learners over 19 years of age, with no experience needed. It is also ideal for anyone wanting to refresh their cutting and styling skills.

Course Description:

The certificate programme consists of seven level 2 units. The qualification mainly focuses on cutting and the art of dressing hair. Units cover the following areas:

  • Working in the hair industry
  • Health and safety
  • Client consultation
  • Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
  • The art of dressing hair
  • Promotion products and services
  • Cutting women's hair

Entry Requirements:

There are no formal entry requirements, however basic computer skills are required. Applicants will be required to attend an interview and successfully complete a taster session.

Assessment:

You will undertake the majority of your training in our realistic training salons, working on tuition heads of hair, to achieve City & Guilds standards. In addition, there will be two hours of classroom learning, covering all underpinning knowledge, together with self study for an online examination in each unit.

Career Opportunities:

You will be qualified as a junior stylist in the units undertaken and able to carry out these services in the industry.

Course Progression:

You will have the opportunity to study further level 2 awards, work towards the full Level 2 Diploma, and increase your qualification profile within the hairdressing industry. There are opportunities for progression to the Men’s Barbering Certificate Level 2.
