Course Description:
This course is designed for those who wish to enjoy the benefits of a full-time college course combined with extensive practical experience.
All practical work in College will be undertaken within the Centre's front office areas. This programme leads to the following qualifications:
- City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Front of House
- Functional Skills
- NVQ Units in Food and Drink Service
This course is delivered through classroom activity, practical work and self-study which will all contribute to your portfolio of evidence, as will presentations, industry visits and visiting speakers.
In addition, students will study at least one Functional Skill in English, maths or ICT as part of their main programme.

Entry Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of secondary education. Applicants should be numerate and confident in written and spoken English. Predicted GCSE results will be viewed in this context. Applicants should also enjoy contact with people.
Career Opportunities:
Immediate employment prospects as a receptionist within hotels, leisure centres, conferences and exhibition centres. Access to supervisory and management opportunities with further studies.
Course Progression:
NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership or the Extended Diploma in Hospitality and Events, followed by the opportunity to enter higher education.
