Course Description:

Students are prepared and entered for the following examinations at all levels from Entry Level 1 to Level 2; ESOL Skills for Life, Functional Skills Application of Number and IT. 

More able students may be entered for Level 2 if they successfully complete Level 1 during the course of the year.

The course also includes Citizenship Studies, Preparation for Employment, Personal and Social Skills Development and regular one-to-one tutorials.

Course Content:

Students are prepared and entered for the following examinations: ESOL Skills for Life at Entry 3 and Level 1, Functional Skills Level 1 Application of Number and Level 1 IT. More able students may be entered for Level 2 if they successfully complete Level 1 during the course of the year. The course also includes Citizenship Studies, Preparation for Employment, Personal and Social Skills Development and regular one-to-one tutorials.

Entry Requirements:

No formal qualifications. Language is assessed through a short interview and test.

Career Opportunities:

This is a general course; further study on a specific vocational course is advised.

Course Progression:

Progression onto vocational courses at Level 3 and above in a variety of subject areas, including Business, IT, construction, hair and beauty and creative industries.
