Course Description:

Both day and evening classes are currently offered. Placement is dependent on the result of a written and oral assessment at the start of the course, and on the availability of places. The assessment will determine which class is the most suitable level for each person, and an indvidual learning plan will be agreed with the class tutor. Further information will be available after an initial assessment and interview.

These classes are popular and places are limited.

Course Content:

Students will have the opportunity to develop their English speaking and listening, and reading and writing skills for a variety of purposes, including employment, further study or communicating with English speaking friends and family.  ESOL incorporates modules in citizenship and aspects of Britain and the qualification is recognised by the UK Border Agency for use to support Home Office applications for Settlement and British Citizenship.

Entry Requirements:

The ESOL courses are for people whose first language is not English and who live and/or work in the UK.

Assessment:

Students will be entered for the nationally recognised and accredited ESOL Skills for Life qualifications offered at Entry levels 1, 2, 3 and Levels 1 and 2. The new ESOL for Work qualifications will also be available.
