e2e (Entry to Employment)
A full induction and enrolment programme is offered to all students followed by a review with the course tutor to ascertain the needs of the students and how we can help them to progress forward. An individual timetable is produced which will include numeracy and literacy taught at level one, employability skills, ASDAN Cope, team skills, motivation, future planning and an introduction to workplace health and safety.
Many young people of this age have yet to determine a career path. It is with this in mind that our e2e programme includes career planning. This may well include some work experience with local employers to give the young student a chance to sample a specific working environment. We also work closely with Connexions to look at local opportunities in the jobs market and our Information Technology course prepares students by giving them access to high speed internet connection for researching the various internet recruitment agencies now available.
Colchester Institute e2e works closely with other training providers in the area and some of the learning, such as first aid, is delivered by expert outside agencies who specialise in this provision. Others, such as ‘The Princes Trust', provide excellent team building courses. We try to individualize where possible the timetable to suit each learner and give them the opportunity to progress forward to a positive outcome.
