Course Description:

This course has been designed to enhance the candidates’ engineering skills, knowledge and understanding. Students will study both electronic and engineering manufacture. It is a mainly practical course that will include a major project to link the subjects together.

This course is delivered through structured lectures, practical activities, student groups and personal tutorials. Students complete set assignments in a range of activities including Key Skill acquisition.

In addition, students will study at least one Functional Skill in English, maths or ICT as part of their main programme.

  • Using and Communicating Technical Information
  • Working Effectively in Engineering
  • Engineering Drawing
  • Turning and Milling
  • CNC Machine
  • CAD
  • Electronic Circuits
  • Computers in Engineering

Entry Requirements:

Satisfactory completion of Performing Engineering Operations Level 1 and consent from the progression review board to continue.

Career Opportunities:

Successful candidates will be able to apply for an Apprenticeship or progress to employment whilst continuing their study via the day release programmes.

Course Progression:

Students will normally progress to the engineering Apprenticeship programmes.
