Course Description:
This exciting programme offers an alternative to traditional AS/A Level study. It provides an opportunity to advance skills and career potential within the field of engineering. The qualification is linked to either electronic or mechanical engineering. Compulsory units cover working effectively and safely in an engineering environment and engineering principles and practice. A further mandatory unit covers specific principles of engineering.
The EAL PEOs are hands-on qualifications introducing a wide range of workshop practices.
Delivery is through structured lectures, practical activities, assignments, visits, student-centred learning and personal tutorials. Sessions are shared with day release students.
In addition, students will study at least one Functional Skill in English, maths or ICT as part of their main programme.

Entry Requirements:

Course Progression:
Options in higher education, including HNCs and Foundation degrees, providing a satisfactory level of maths and science is obtained by taking the additional advanced maths and science unit as part of this course, or an equivalent qualification.
