Course Description:

This person-centred course is aimed at learners with a learning difficulty and/or disability who want to develop their confidence, in addition to their personal and social skills. The course would suit learners who are working at mile-stones within Entry Level 1. The development of personal and social skills, communication, maths and ICT are key to the curriculum.

Course Content:

This course is designed to engage adult learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities into learning which will enhance their personal and social skills, and promotes learning in various contexts.  Learning takes place in both classrooms and workshops, but practical and community based learning is also undertaken.  Enrichment activities are designed to engage learners with their local communities and are also an important part of the course.

Entry Requirements:

Course offered subject to successful interview and initial assessment. In addition, learners need to show a commitment and willingness to work towards agreed goals and participate in all course activities.

Career Opportunities:

Progression into work experience, sheltered, mainstream or supported employment.

Course Progression:

Following successful completion of this course, it may be possible to progress to another Foundation Learning course.
