Course Description:
This course leads to a professional qualification for learning support practitioners. The units of study will include the development of knowledge and understanding of principles and strategies of learning support, principles of teaching and learning, the lifelong learning sector context and equality and diversity. There will also be skills development and observation of practice.
Assessment is by reflective learning journal and observed practice. A range of teaching and learning methods will be used, including group work activities, small and whole group discussion, pair work, tutor-led sessions, self-study and workshops.
Entry Requirements:
Interest in supporting literacy, numeracy or language needs. Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills.
