Apprenticeships- Benefits for Employers

Apprenticeships are a great opportunity for those aged 16 years and above as well as employers - the benefits for both are mutual.

For an Apprentice, an Apprenticeship isn't just a job; it's the first step towards a long-term career.

Over the years Colchester Institute has worked with hundreds of small, medium and large companies across Essex who have benefited from employing and training an Apprentice.

Colchester Institute is a partner in the BCT (Braintree, Colchester and Tendring) Consortium, which was formed in 2004 to offer high quality Apprenticeships in North Essex.

Apprenticeships are designed by business for business offering your company relevant, recognised qualifications.

Apprenticeships focus on the whole job, not just individual skills. Apprentices learn through on and off-the job education and training. Apprentices are trained by your staff, to your company's standards - the end result is a loyal, motivated employee, adding value to your business. The scheme allows you to bring on board a younger workforce and avoid skills shortages.

Your organisation can reap the following benefits from Apprenticeships:

  • Improved productivity
  • Motivated people
  • Staff Retention
  • Avoid skill shortages
  • Cost effective, relevant training

What Apprenticeships do we offer?

Our Apprenticeships Team at Colchester Institute will help you recruit a suitable Apprentice. Or if you want to place your current staff on an apprenticeship programme and they are aged 16 or above, we can advise you on the opportunities available. Employers are required to sign a contract of employment for the Apprentice and pay them a wage.
