Sally Fisher

Sally originally trained as a dancer, gaining her teaching qualifications. Moving to London in the 1990’s saw a career change leading to her becoming Town Centre Manager for pre Olympic Stratford. She managed a £15 million pound regeneration budget and became responsible for raising the profile of Stratford with major events and projects involving the arts and business. From then she became Events Director for an entertainment agency working with high profile clients such as Harrods, Selfridges, Unilever, Meryl Lynch and Canary Wharf Ltd before moving back to Colchester to became Town Centre Manager for Walton-on-the-Naze, winning several major awards for projects she initiated. In 2006 Sally changed career again, fulfilling a lifelong ambition, by embarking on a three year Musical Theatre degree at Colchester Institute and then onto a one year PGCE course where she gained qualified teacher status in the lifelong learning sector. Sally now combines her love of theatre and her expertise in events management as events co-ordinator for CMPA Live! and a Lecturer in event management. She also directs her own performing arts school “Theatricool” at Colchester Institute on a Saturday, nurturing future generations of actors, singers and dancers. In her spare time, Sally is a director and choreographer for several local musical theatre groups.

Daniel Law

Daniel graduated from the Colchester Institute in 2006, having studied piano with Francis Reneau and accompaniment with Christopher Roberts. Whilst at Colchester Institute, he won various competitions including the Canon Jack Award for solo piano, and the Colchester Institute Concerto Prize, with a performance of John Ireland's Piano Concerto. In 2006, Daniel was offered a place to study at the Royal Academy of Music and awarded bursaries from the Hervey Benham Trust and The Kathleen Trust, but instead decided to undertake private studies with his current teacher, Australian pianist, Lesley Young. Daniel joined the Colchester Institute in 2006 and the Sixth Form College, Colchester, in 2007 as resident accompanist. As well as regular solo engagements, he performs with soloists and ensembles from classical and music theatre backgrounds across the country, taking a keen interest in English 20th century solo and ensemble music. Daniel has also appeared in piano masterclasses with Alexander Ardakov, Piers Lane, Victor Sangiorgio, and regularly accompanies instrumental masterclasses given by influential performers, which has included Victoria Soames Samek (clarinet). Alongside his busy performing and teaching schedule he is continuing his education, studying for a Master of Arts in Music Performance.

Neil Somerville

Neil is an active singing teacher, voice coach and musical director. His interests are primarily in musical theatre and his work as a musical director has taken him to New York, London and Edinburgh. As a singer he has appeared in all of the professional concert stages in Edinburgh and Glasgow and, as an experienced flautist, has worked as a session musician and freelance orchestral player all over Scotland.

Dee Jarrett

Dee comes from Colchester and holds a degree in Ecology and Environmental Science. She has worked extensively within education in her home town. Dee began her career working for the Education Welfare Service before transferring to the Behaviour Support Service. She then trained as a Science teacher at Sir Charles Lucas Arts College. She joined Colchester Institute in 2006, working initially as a one to one tutor in Learning Support, before teaching and providing learning support in the Life Skills department. Dee teaches Functional Skills to musicians in the Centre.
