The Learning Shop is conveniently based in Colchester town centre just off the High Street and anyone who wants to know more about learning can 'pop in' for an informal, friendly chat or browse through the various brochures and leaflets displayed on our shelves.
The Learning Shop provides an impartial and accessible information and advice service for adults aged 16 and over from Colchester and the surrounding areas on the different local learning and education opportunities available. Up-to-date information is available on adult courses as diverse as computing for beginners and garden design through to professional career training.
The Learning Shop offers the following services:
- Information to take away on learning opportunities.
- Advice on available courses.
- One to one careers advice sessions.
- Advice sessions with representatives from organisations such as the Open University.
- IT Courses
- Free literacy and numeracy courses leading to Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications
The Learning Shop is a partnership between Colchester Institute, Open University in the East of England, The Sixth Form College, Colchester and the University of Essex.
Drop in, phone or e-mail for free impartial information and advice about learning opportunities available for adults locally.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday 10.30am to 3.30pm
