Mike Lankester

BA (Hons) Music

Mike Lankester, aged 22, joined the College upon completion of his A Levels in Ipswich to study for the National Diploma in Music Technology. Mike originally researched many colleges but liked the look of Colchester Institute and the courses on offer.

He said, “There was so much choice available to me, I could pick and choose my specialist subjects, so I could really tailor the course to suit my needs.”

Upon completion of his National Diploma, Mike decided he wanted to continue his education at the College and enrolled on the BA (Hons) Music course.

He said, “I found that the College had a really supportive atmosphere. I had built close relationships with the teaching staff, who always have time to talk and there is a really high standard of education.”

In the future, Mike would like to build a career in the music industry. He feels that his time at Colchester Institute has given him the skills needed to pursue his dream and has given him guidance on how to take his first steps in the business. Mike is currently looking for placements to undertake once he finishes his course in June and hopes to use the links and contacts supplied by his tutors.
