Chris Watts Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control
"I enjoyed learning with others once again in a classroom environment; this provides stimulus and feedback immediately, something that distance learning courses can not deliver.”
Emma Rowe BA (Hons) Art and Design – Fashion and Textiles
Emma chose to study at the College after researching a range of universities, but felt that they didn’t offer the flexibility that she needed, or compared to the facilities at Colchester Institute. She said, “To be honest, I loved my tutors and felt really happy here. So I just thought, why go somewhere else when I’ve got everything I need on my doorstep?”
Louise Bellamy BA (Hons) Early Years
“I have also received first hand advice from teachers and really got a feel for what being a teacher means; its roles and responsibilities, which has made me feel more confident about my chosen career path.” Louise said, “Each module within the course varies so much and therefore I am given the opportunity to look at careers from many angles and develop my knowledge.”
Lucy Adams BA (Hons) Health and Social Care
“The style of teaching and module content has been varied and interesting. I have been able to meet lots of great people from different career paths and walks of life.”
Lucy Jobson BSc (Hons) Construction Management
“I was quite apprehensive about returning to the classroom, and was worried by the thought of coursework and assignments, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how supportive the tutors have been. They understand the challenges of balancing home, work and study successfully and have given me confidence in the classroom.”

“I enjoyed every single moment of my time at Colchester Institute and would recommend it to anyone. The staff were really great, they were helpful and considerate of my situation.”
