Mark Lloyd

Mark Lloyd, from Colchester, is a lecturer in sport on the Management of Sport programmes at Colchester Institute. He specialises in sports development and coaching at both further and higher education levels.

Following his achievement of the HNC in Sport and Recreation, Mark has gained over 15 years experience in coaching and management. Mark’s coaching experience includes working with a variety of basketball teams including the Eastern Region, England, and Great Britain youth teams.

In 2004, Mark led the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Team to success as team manager, when they won a bronze medal at the Paralympic Games, in Athens, and gold at the 2005 Paralympics World Cup, in Manchester.

Mark is currently the Team Manager for Great Britain under 20 Men’s Basketball Team and a member of the 2012 development team, who together hope to feed talented players into the senior squad to compete in the 2012 Olympics in London. Mark enjoys travelling and, through basketball and personal trips, he has been lucky enough to visit many countries throughout Europe, Australia and America. He is currently studying for a Master in Sports Development.
